The Black Rainbow
This project was possibly one of the strangest, yet most interesting jobs that we have ever worked on. Internationally renown artist Cai Guo-Qiang who specialises in creating art form fireworks wished to create a Black Rainbow to symbolise the modern era. A bespoke scaffolding base was constructed and we erected 1240 tubes at 24 different angles across the platform. Using specially sourced Black Smoke shells we fired 620 cues over three different sequences, with a duration of 30 seconds to create the black image in the sky. This was a truly unique project, which we thoroughly enjoyed seeing through from initial concept through to fruition.
