About Us
Pyro1 was formed in 1995, as a division of Enterprise Events UK Ltd, to specialise in the growing market for fireworks and pyrotechnics. During the past twelve years Pyro1 has grown into one of the UK's leading professional firework companies, with offices in Hertfordshire and Edinburgh. We provide displays throughout the whole of the British Isles for corporate events, festivals, balls, sporting occasions, summer concerts, private parties, weddings and of course for Guy Fawkes Night. We are members of the British Pyrotechnic Association and the CBI Explosives Industry Group.
Our sister company, Aquabatics, provides breathtaking water shows, combining fountains and coloured lights to create spectacular displays. These can be combined with fireworks to great effect.
Our full time team ably supported by a large group of trained and highly experienced freelancers, are dedicated to providing first class firework and pyrotechnic displays backed by our commitment to excellent customer service.
Quality Products
We travel to China each year to source much of the firework product for our displays, to ensure that we get the best material available. During this trip we visit as many as 15 different factories and see demonstrations of over 500 products. From this vast selection we choose new items every year in order to continue to produce exciting and varied displays to both our new and existing customers, some of whom have been with us for 12 years! Other items are sourced from UK, Spain, USA, Germany, Taiwan and Italy and with such a wide range of product available to us we can produce spectacular and varied displays at competitive prices. The pyrotechnics we use for sporting events and indoor work are sourced either from Europe or the USA.
Storage
Our main store at a former US Air Force base in Oxfordshire, can accommodate in excess of 40 tonnes of fireworks. Originally built to house the bombs carried by F111's, the buildings are exceptionally strong and have been described as some of the safest firework storage in the UK.
Firing Systems
All our shows are now fired electronically and we use two main systems. Pyromate is a 24 volt electric system with the capability to fire up to 540 circuits. Fireone is a more complex digital system which allows us to fire a greater number of circuits. It is a fully computer programmable system. This enables us to synchronise firing to time codes and allows us the design of complex rapid firing chase sequences.
Insurance
We carry £10 million public & product liability insurance. Copies of our insurance certificate are available on request.
Training
The industry training standard is set by the British Pyrotechnic Association. All our displays are managed by BPA Level 2 qualified firers and all our operators hold either Level 1 or Level 2 qualifications. We also have a number of ADR trained drivers, licensed by the Department of Transport to move Explosives, and our own in-house qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor.
